ALPAS: Guiding the Youth Toward a Future Without Boundaries

By investing in the next generation of Filipino talent, Scale Up Philippines continues its mission to shape a future where businesses grow sustainably — and people, especially the youth, rise with them.

At Scale Up Philippines, we believe that talent knows no boundaries — only opportunities waiting to be unlocked. Through ALPAS: The Career Talk and Training, we bring this belief to life by connecting with students and young professionals across the country who aspire to grow, contribute, and build meaningful careers right where they are.

ALPAS, which means to rise or break free, represents the journey of many Filipinos who seek better opportunities without leaving their hometowns or families behind. The program introduces the concept of remote work as a sustainable and empowering path — one that allows individuals to thrive professionally while staying rooted in their communities.

Through workshops, mentorship, and real-world industry insights, ALPAS helps participants develop essential career skills — from communication and digital literacy to adaptability and global collaboration.

More importantly, it inspires them to see that success isn’t confined to big cities or traditional offices; it can begin from home, from purpose, and from a community that uplifts one another.

Dagyaw: Celebrating Filipino Culture Through Community

The goal of Dagyaw is to give people a chance to experience and learn about Filipino art and traditions firsthand, fostering appreciation for culture, creativity, and community. By sharing these practices with the next generation, the initiative helps ensure that the country’s rich heritage continues to thrive.

At Scale Up Philippines, we believe that a company’s impact goes beyond business—it extends into the communities and culture that shape us. This belief inspired Dagyaw, a cultural initiative designed to celebrate Filipino heritage, creativity, and craftsmanship.

The idea for Dagyaw came after a visit to Buscalan, where we had the extraordinary opportunity to meet the legendary mambabatok, Whang-Od. Inspired by her work and the rich traditions of tattoo-making, we envisioned bringing a similar experience to Bulakan, Bulacan, the founding place of Scale Up Philippines.

Through Dagyaw, we organized a community cultural celebration where participants could experience traditional crafts, learn from the new generation of mambabatok, and connect with Filipino artistry firsthand. From getting traditional tattoos to trying hands-on crafts, the event provided a unique opportunity to celebrate culture, heritage, and collaboration.

Dagyaw is Scale Up Philippines’ cultural initiative aimed at celebrating and preserving Filipino heritage while bringing communities together. Inspired by our visit to Buscalan and meeting the legendary mambabatok Whang-Od, we brought traditional tattoo-making and local crafts to Bulakan, Bulacan, the birthplace of Scale Up.

Unplug to Uplift: Giving Beyond Virtual

“Unplug to Uplift: Giving Beyond Virtual” is Scale Up Philippines’ annual outreach program that brings the team together to give back to local communities. Each year, the initiative organizes Christmas gift-giving activities to spread joy and hope to children and families.

At Scale Up Philippines, we believe that impact goes beyond the digital workspace. Through our annual outreach program, “Unplug to Uplift: Giving Beyond Virtual,” we step away from our screens to connect with communities in real and meaningful ways.

The initiative reminds us that behind every virtual success is a responsibility to give back — to share time, resources, and compassion with those who need it most. Each year, our team and partners come together to organize Christmas gift-giving activities, bringing joy, warmth, and hope to children and families across local communities.

Through workshops, mentorship, and real-world industry insights, ALPAS helps participants develop essential career skills — from communication and digital literacy to adaptability and global collaboration.

Living Our Mission, One Scholar at a Time

Our scholars are more than dreamers — they are doers. They are future professionals, creatives, educators, and leaders. They are young people refusing to let circumstances dictate their destiny. And for us, standing beside them isn’t just a program. It’s our mission in action.

It shows up in every mentorship session, every workshop, every late-night check-in, every scholarship allowance released. It shows up every time a scholar realizes:

“Kaya ko pala.”

The Journey Ahead

As we continue growing Scale Up Philippines, we commit to growing our scholarship initiative alongside it — more scholars, more support, more pathways to employment, and more opportunities to uplift communities. The journey is long, but we’re not slowing down — and neither are the young people we serve.

Sulong, Kabataang Bulakenyo.

Your dreams deserve momentum, and we’ll keep building the road with you.

It all begins with a simple but powerful act: showing up for young people who dare to dream. This belief is at the core of our Edupport Scholarship Program — and every time we meet our scholars, we’re reminded why our mission matters.

Recently, our Edupport Scholars gathered for an orientation and fellowship. These students come from different walks of life, each with a story worth telling, but they share one thing in common: their determination to build a better future not just for themselves, but for their families and for our community — Bulakan.

Seeing them step into this new chapter, wearing jackets proudly marked with Scale Up Philippines, felt symbolic — a reminder that they are not walking their journey alone.

Why We Do This

Supporting scholars isn’t a side project for us. It’s part of the very foundation of who we are. Our work as a business has always been intertwined with our commitment to education. We believe companies — especially those in the outsourcing and tech enabled space — carry a responsibility to uplift the communities they operate in.

  • Opening doors for students who simply need someone to take a chance on them
  • Building confidence in young people who often underestimate their own potential
  • Providing support and mentorship so they can thrive academically and professionally
  • Investing in long-term change, one student at a time

These scholars remind us that education is transformative. When one learner succeeds, an entire family moves forward with them.

3. Client Matching: Finding the Role That Fits You Best

Once qualified, candidates are matched to clients based on skills, requirements, personality, and compatibility. Successful applicants are endorsed to clients for potential roles, and depending on the client’s process, additional interviews may take place. This ensures every match is intentional, mutually aligned, and set up for long-term success.

4. Talent Pool & Future Opportunities: Staying Visible for the Right Roled

Not all qualified candidates get matched right away — and that’s normal. Client needs vary, and roles open at different times. Candidates who aren’t matched immediately remain active in Scale Up’s Talent Pool, where they continue to be considered for upcoming openings that match their skills, experience, and career goals. Staying in the Talent Pool keeps you at the front of the line for future opportunities.

Your Next Step

If you’re ready to build a meaningful VA career with a team that prioritizes growth, alignment, and long-term success, Scale Up Philippines is here to guide you every step of the way.

Our process goes beyond simply reviewing applications — it’s a structured, thoughtful system designed to truly understand who you are as a professional and where you can grow best. From assessing your readiness to guiding you through interviews and matching you with roles that align with your strengths, every step is built to ensure a meaningful, long-term fit. And even when a role isn’t immediately available, you remain part of a Talent Pool that keeps you visible for future opportunities, giving you continuous access to roles that match your skills and career goals.

Whether you’re a first-time applicant or an experienced VA exploring new opportunities, here’s a clear look at what to expect from start to finish:

1. Screening & Orientation: Understanding Your Foundation

Supporting scholars isn’t a side project for us. It’s part of the very foundation of who we are. Our work as a business has always been intertwined with our commitment to education. We believe companies — especially those in the outsourcing and tech enabled space — carry a responsibility to uplift the communities they operate in.

During this stage, we introduce key expectations, our recruitment timeline, and the opportunities available. The goal is simple: give every applicant clarity before moving forward.

2. Interviews: Getting to Know Your Strengths

Our interview process is designed to understand both your experience and your future potential.

  • Initial Interview: Focuses on communication skills, work history, professionalism, and general role fit.
  • Final Interview: Assesses your technical abilities, problem solving approach, and commitment to long-term virtual assistance work.

This two-step structure helps us build a complete picture of who you are as a talent.

These students remind us that talent is everywhere—sometimes it just needs space and support to shine.

To Cyhrille, Gerome, John, Paul, and Mark Nelson, thank you for being part of our journey. Your commitment have made a lasting impact on our team and our projects.

Alab, BulSU!
Sulong, Kabataang Bulakenyo!

Real growth happens when young people are given the chance to build, create, and contribute to meaningful work that shapes their future. This is the heart of Edupport, our commitment to bridging education and industry through hands-on experience.

While our ALPAS Training Program continues to guide university students in developing practical skills in virtual assistance and digital careers, our mission extends even further.

We remain steadfast in nurturing local talent through strong academic partnerships—especially with one of our longest standing collaborators, Bulacan State University (BulSU).

One Student at a Time

This year, we proudly welcomed fourth-year Computer Technology students from the College of Information and Communication Technology—Cyhrille Ann Mendoza, Gerome Christian Leoncio, John Lenrich Gonzales, Paul James Iglesia, and Mark Nelson Manlapas—as part of their On-the-Job Training. Each of them stepped into the team contributing significantly to the development and enhancement of the Scale Up Philippines website.

By giving our young talents real-world experience, we’re helping them grow essential skills, ignite creativity, and open doors to opportunities—right here in Bulacan.

Together, we’re shaping the future of work, one student at a time.

Why These Partnerships Matter

Supporting OJT students from BulSU is also building a community where young Bulakenyos can thrive. Through this ongoing collaboration, we are able to:

  • Let students gain hands-on industry experience
  • trengthen their readiness for the digital workforce
  • Foster innovation within local communities
  • Contribute to building a stronger, future-ready Bulacan
