Job Description
Scale-Up Philippines is looking for a detail-oriented and organized Auto and Workers’ Compensation Remittance Specialist to join our growing team and support one of our international clients in the healthcare industry.
The ideal candidate has experience in medical billing, remittance processing, or accounts receivable, with the ability to accurately interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), process zero-payment remittances, and maintain accurate patient account records.
Summary
The Auto and Workers Compensation Remittance Specialist processes zero-payment remittances and related correspondence. This role reviews explanation of benefits (EOB) language to identify the correct rejection reason, documents account activity, and determines whether an account should be routed for appeal or designated as patient responsibility. The specialist also identifies correspondence that needs review by the Accounts Receivable (AR) team and supports other billing office tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Sort and process daily PNC correspondence.
Review automobile and workers compensation EOBs, interpret payer language, and select the appropriate rejection reason code.
Enter zero-payment transactions in NG; update patient status and tracking notes; and designate accounts as “Appeal” or “Self,” as appropriate.
Add clear notes explaining the EOB findings, account decision, and any follow-up needed.
Identify correspondence that requires escalation to AR staff and route it promptly.
Identify paid automobile and workers compensation EOBs and place printed copies in the designated accordion folders for AR staff.
Obtain guidance from the Billing Lead on the handling and placement of correspondence unrelated to automobile or workers compensation claims.
Process Medical Record Statement requests accurately and promptly.
Assist with posting settlement checks, as needed.
Complete other clerical duties and special projects assigned by management.
Qualifications and Skills
Ability to read and interpret EOBs and other payer correspondence with close attention to detail.
Sound judgment in selecting reason codes, documenting accounts, and recognizing when to seek guidance or escalate an item.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a daily volume of correspondence accurately.
Clear written communication skills for account notes and tracking updates.
Experience with medical billing, remittance processing, or accounts receivable is preferred. Familiarity with NG is a plus.
