Job Description
Scale Up Philippines is partnering with a growing property-focused business to hire a Xero Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant. This is a great opportunity for an experienced, detail-driven bookkeeper to support a busy property business with accurate, timely financial record-keeping — with the potential for a long-term, stable remote engagement as the company continues to scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping in Xero, ensuring all transactions are reconciled accurately and on time.
- Have experience preparing trial balances for year-end accounts and VAT returns. Candidate must also be proficient in Xero and have knowledge of UK accounting laws and regulations
- Prepare and support the submission of VAT returns in line with UK requirements.
- Assist in preparing year-end accounts, working alongside the company’s accountant.
- Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready financial records.
- Identify discrepancies, errors, or unusual trends in the accounts and flag them for review.
- Provide regular financial summaries/reports to the leadership team.
- Support ad hoc finance and admin tasks as the business and role grow.
Required Experience:
- Proven, hands-on experience using Xero (required).
- Must be proficient in Xero UK
- Solid understanding of UK VAT regulations and year-end accounts processes.
- Prior experience working with UK clients or businesses strongly preferred.
- Experience in the property, real estate, or construction sector is a strong plus.
- Demonstrated track record working remotely with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional attention to detail — a high degree of accuracy is essential for this role.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Reliable, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of tasks.
