Job Description
Scale Up Philippines is partnering with a growing healthcare billing organization to hire a Healthcare Payment Posting Specialist. This role is central to keeping account records accurate and audit-ready, with a primary focus on posting zero-dollar remittances tied to self-pay accounts and insurance denials. It’s a strong entry point into U.S. healthcare revenue cycle work for a detail-driven professional.
You’ll review remittance advice and EOBs, post payments and adjustments to the correct accounts, and flag denials or discrepancies before they become bigger issues. As you build a track record, there’s room to grow into broader payment posting, reconciliation, and AR responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately and consistently post zero-dollar remittances for self-pay accounts and insurance denials.
- Review remittance advice, explanations of benefits (EOBs), and account details prior to posting.
- Ensure payments, adjustments, denials, and balances are applied to the correct patient accounts.
- Identify and document claim denials and posting discrepancies.
- Escalate unusual denials, missing information, or account issues to the appropriate billing team member.
- Perform quality checks on all assigned remittances.
- Maintain clear records of completed and pending work.
- Meet daily productivity and accuracy targets.
- Follow healthcare billing procedures, company policy, and patient-data confidentiality requirements.
- Support other payment posting, billing, reconciliation, or account tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in healthcare billing, payment posting, accounts receivable, or revenue cycle management (preferred).
- Basic understanding of claim denials, remittance advice, and payment posting workflows.
- Experience with self-pay or patient accounts is a plus.
- Sharp attention to detail and strong data-entry accuracy.
- Comfortable with repetitive, high-precision posting tasks at a consistent pace.
- Solid organizational and time-management habits.
- Confident identifying discrepancies and knowing when/how to escalate.
- Self-directed and able to hit productivity targets independently.
- Familiarity with EHR, practice management systems, or billing software (preferred).
- Basic knowledge of HIPAA and patient-data confidentiality standards.
