Job Description
Scale Up Philippines is partnering with a growing US-based accounting firm to hire a Bookkeeper. This role offers the chance to join an established practice serving 300+ clients, working directly within QuickBooks Online alongside a small, US-based remote team.
You’ll play a key part in maintaining accurate daily bookkeeping records and supporting client-facing engagement, with strong overlap into US business hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily bookkeeping and transaction reconciliation in QuickBooks Online across multiple client accounts.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and organized financial records.
- Participate in client meetings and engagement — this role involves direct client contact, not just backend data entry.
- Communicate proactively and follow up promptly with the team and clients without needing reminders.
- Identify and flag discrepancies or trends in financial data for review.
- Adapt quickly to firm-specific processes and systems across a high client volume.
Qualifications:
- QuickBooks Online Advanced / ProAdvisor certified, or able to obtain certification quickly.
- Prior experience with US-based bookkeeping required; exposure to US tax preparation is a strong plus (this role does not handle tax prep directly, but familiarity with US tax concepts is valued).
- Strong technical bookkeeping skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills — client-facing fluency required.
- Highly reliable with a proven track record of responsiveness and follow-through.
- Comfortable working independently while maintaining strong, proactive communication with a US-based team.

- Accuracy of zero-dollar remittance postings.
- Volume of accounts processed.
- Consistency in completing assigned work.
- Speed in identifying and escalating denials or discrepancies.
- Compliance with billing and documentation procedures.
